STBXH sending sad text messages

We're nearly a year separated and my STBXH still sends me messages every so often about how he misses me, asks me if I'm lonely. I know we weren't meant to be anymore as I was so unhappy and I've been seeing someone else very casually. I wish he would just let me move on. Why is he doing this?

Do you have children together?

If not, block him.

If you do have children, get a cheap phone and PAYG sim, send a text saying "hi!! This is OP's new number, please only contact me on this number from now on!" Make it look like it's being sent to all of your contacts. Then stick the phone in a drawer where you don't have to look at it more than once every couple of days. Disregard anything that's not related to the children.

He's just being mawkish and there's no going back. Don't give him space in your head.

Good idea, thanks. We don't have children, just need to sort house etc. I rarely miss him and am moving on quite well. Each message like this really sets me back.
