I would tell him that you will not be going out with him again until he says sorry, and cut out the drinking when with you.
What a stupid and hurtful thing to say about your DD

I sympathise so much, my FIL is quite like this, but my littlies are still only 2 and 3, so I haven't yet had to deal with them understanding everything yet. I'm dreading when they start questioning the things he talks about.
He's nice enough to the kids, but some of his opinions are just appalling.

Oh yes. But doesn't think it's a problem, obviously. He can handle it. Allegedly.

It's the lager for breakfast that I really really hate.

Hi hun, when did all this happen?

What he said was totally hurtful and thoughtless, but he had had too much to drink and that does bring out the worst in him.

It's a tough one, but I think at least you got an apology, and to say he loves you is lovely. He probably texted because he doesn't strike me as the type of man to say that sort of thing out loud?

Sorry, but had to laugh at the whisky comment!! WTF was all that about? If he's been slurping at women like he knocks back the whisky no wonder he's single

Maybe we should introduce him to my MIL? Sounds like they are made for each other.

Will call you later
xx
