Anyone used this dating site? Is it any better than the others? I'm toying with the idea of Internet dating but had zero success in the past.

Never heard of Elite Singles but a friend of mine recommended Plenty of Fish, anyone tried it?

Alpinecrunch · 19/04/2015 19:18

Yes, me and It didn't suit me but others I know have met some nice guys on there.

Why Elite? Genuine question btw. Its important to have standards but I think some of the niche sites have less traffic so everyone I know who used guardian soulmates and match also registered with the free ones too. I met a' professional' on okcupid who hadn't had luck on a paid for Grin

Friend of mine (honest!) has used Elite Singles and has met some decent guys, one of whom she is now seeing. As with all OD there are those who are over keen and don't understand "not interested" however she has met some interesting, successful people and recommended it to me although I haven't tried it yet

albal14 · 19/04/2015 20:09

Good luck. Never tried it myself, disalusioned by all the OD.

On the 'Dating' sites I've asked for a date pretty early on, seems this is not what you do with OD, ! So my response is I am here to DATE. Not interested in multiple email tennis. I may state I prefer brunettes, but I've fell for blondes in the past. It's either there when you meet or it is'nt.

Ouchbloodyouch · 19/04/2015 20:27

Im with you albal i pushed for a date straight away. We met 3 days later. Still dating (exclusive if you prefer Wink )

Alpinecrunch · 19/04/2015 20:57

It's a potential option because someone recommended it and I've had no success with other sites. I'm not convinced I'll be paying for anything different which is why I'm asking for opinions.

Well, the advantage of it being highly expensive (nearly £90 per month for the top option!) is that you've weeded out anyone who hasn't got the funds to pay - so you would at least know they could potentially afford to split dinner!

PoF in my experience tends to have a high ratio of men looking for a casual shag. OKCupid can be similar.

I guess it depends on what you're looking for - if you want someone educated and solvent, then it's probably a good bet. However, I'd assume a fairly high quotient of knobheads who think they're better than anyone else...
