I am fed up having no friends, got 2 teenagers, but no friends. Work at a school and have colleagues but don't seem to form friendships. Have lost a few friends over the years due to private family problems which has meant I have had to withdraw from the few friends I had. Turning 40 next year - can't have a party got no one to invite. Feel so jealous of colleagues who have friends to call. Hubby is older and doesn't seem to need friends so can't make friends with their wives. No free clubs to join nearby and working long hours makes it hard to go further afield, can't afford to pay for clubs. Help, crying again :-(

Thanks

Would you like to get back in touch with your old friends?

I don't really have friends either, just acquaintances. I think it's more common than we think.

Do you have any interests you could join a club or do course to explore (obviously if you have the time)? I know some people like joining stuff and some don't, and I'm a joiner by nature, but I have always found it the best way to meet new people and make new friends. Somehow, making friends is easier when it's not the primary focus of the activity.

So sorry - didn't read your OP carefully enough. You explained that, apologies, ignore me!

Think it would take a lot of explaining to go back, they don't seem to have missed me but thanks for replies

Google:

Meet up

City socialiser

Lots of people in your position getting together to meet others in the same position.
