Hi, hope no one minds me posting this here.Does anyone have any experience of internet dating sites for celibate people? I appreciate this may sound a bit strange. I am a 46 year old woman and due to several severe anxiety issues I am very, very nervous at the idea of sex. I have been single since my late 20s and am generally happy on my own. However, I would like to date and possibly explore a relationship with a man. I am very reluctant to get involved with anyone as sooner or later they will expect a physical relationship which I am unsure that I can provide. Ideally, I would like relationship but without sex. I realise this is unsusual but is does anyone have any experience of this?

No experience but some internet dating sites have an option that you can specify what kind of relationship you are looking for, i.e. friends or long term relationship or casual or brief encounter. If I remember correctly, Love and Friends has this option so might be worth having a browse there.

There was actually a man posting on a very similar issue recently, might be worth trying to find his thread to see the advice given there. Good luck, hope you find what you're looking for in a relationship.

I would probably recommend Asexual dating sites if you feel you genuinely won't ever be able to have sexual contact.
www.asexualitic.com/ is one.

If you feel you may want to slowly re-explore the possibilities of sex at a later time, then I'd recommend getting some counselling. EMDR might be a good choice if you have sexual traumas which have led to PTSD. And then look to date someone but make it very clear upfront that sex is not on the table until a very trusting relationship has been established.

Thank you for the replies, I had a look at the other thread mentioned, it made interesting reading. I havnt been abused and Im not sure if I am asexual, I have really bad OCD/anxiety, which I think is the root of it. I am going to have a look the website asexualitic as I think its worth exploring.
