Please could you recommend a marriage counselor in the Cranbrook area?
My much loved friend was Googling divorce lawyers yesterday morning, on Mothers Day FFS, and if that's what she finally decides then all power to her, but I'm pretty certain she'll want to try counselling first.
The reason I'm asking on here rather than leaving her to Google for one is that her DH has some specific issues that as a combo may leave a less-than-brilliant counselor floundering.
A bad counselling experience will make him write off the process permanently, and I suspect she'll go back to put-up-and-shut-up mode.
He's an alcoholic with historic brain injury he's 95% recovered from, but is fully functioning and in denial about his drinking and the impact of his behaviour. His social and emotional skills had to be relearnt, and he does not accept that he needs any help. He is extremely intelligent and somewhat misogynistic IMO.
Any recommendations gratefully received.
