Nisi issued...can he stop it?

He is divorcing me and nisi has been read out in court - but he's rung me tonight to say he wants to get back together. I don't want to. We've agreed finances by consent and child arrangements. Can he stop our divorce now and do we have to start again???!!! :-/

No he can't stop it. If only one partner wants to stay married they can't stop a divorce.

A decree absolute will find its way to you in about 6 weeks.

I don't think this is quite true. Found this on the web from a UK solicitor's site:

The Petitioner can apply for Decree Absolute six weeks and a day after Decree Nisi date, but the Respondent cannot apply until three months after that six week period.

So it seems he can delay the inevitable for aprox 4.5 months.
