I have sw involved due to dv and we are on a plan. we have done everything they have asked but 1. they want me to go to therapy as i was self medicating when things got bad with drink. not around children but.
I have a problem I don't trust therapy psychology etc. my father is/was a child psychologist/ social worker. I grew up in(flats in) homes and bad things happened in the homes and to me but when I told my father he didn't believe me.
many years later this still effects me.
how do I get over my mistrust and get help?

Sorry you've had some bad experiences in the past. You're not simply go get to get over mistrust so maybe don't think in those terms. However, you're now an adult and not a powerless child. You can use the authority of being an adult in order to be very choosy about which therapists you want to work with and which you don't. You can assert yourself.
