Feel all weird and a bit teary. Just found a picture of the dad who left when I was a baby. I've never met him. He's Egyptian and I really look like him. I've seen the picture before, but for some reason it's floored me today.

ah, don'tcall, that's very hard. I can't understand how men can walk away from a beautiful loving baby, short of utter desperation.

I hope you had some other loving and gentle father figures in your life Flowers

Thanks meerka. It's a funny feeling.

oh dear. funny how these things can sneak up on you and ambush you when you are not expecting it.

Poor you. Have you by any chance had a young child yourself? My dad's abandonment of us hit me suddenly when my daughter was little. I looked at her lovely little face and wondered how hard and empty you'd have to be to leave a little one like that.

I am sorry to hear you have had this happen purple. My youngest is 5 but I've been working through my past lately I guess.
