How do I stop thinking about him

I know I will be flamed and have NCed for this. I have had an affair, short term physical (a couple of months, sex 4 times) but several months emotional and although it is over, I am still struggling to get over him. We have intermittent contact for work purposes and so at the moment I am not at the point where I can have absolutely nothing to do with him. He does not help with the messages he sends and things he says. I know I don't deserve help or time. I have deleted his number, messages etc and try to manage contact so that it is purely work based and only takes place at work. I am sure that he has no idea how difficult I am finding it to put him behind me. I know this is what I deserve but can anyone offer any advice about how to forget him.

Well if he doesn't know how difficult it is for you then he will keep on sending you texts, you need to toughen up and tell him where to go, he must think there's a chance you will reciprocate no.

I don't understand why you have to converse outside of work, surely you can just block him completely.

Tell him you will tell the wife, that should do the trick.

I would say keep contact strictly professional. If he contacts you dont respond. He will lose interest. If he continues to contact you then I would send a firm and polite response along the lines of..... Hi (insert arsholes name), On the basis of the sleazy, explicit emails/texts that you sent to me on (insert dates/times) it is clear that you really have not got the bloody message that I am not interested in So FFS can you stop making an utter fool/twat of yourself and stop contacting me.
