My friend is temporraily split from her boyfriend who she has 2 children with. I was going to send her some flowers to say, 'thinking of her and that if he needs anything to let me know'. I am not sure if flowers are a good idea as flowers are normaly something you send when celebrating! Any ideas.

I think it's a lovely idea

Friends did the same for me, it was really nice to know they were thinking of me.

I had a friend do this for me at a tough time. It was lovely.

I think it's a brilliant idea. I would love that (which is weird because I never have or would appreciate them from a partner). Smile

A few weeks after my exH walked out it was our wedding anniversary. A bouquet of flowers arrived and my heart leapt, hoping it was a sign of reconciliation. Until I read the card and realised they were from my Mum. ..... Sad I'm sure it wasn't meant maliciously but the effect was so depressing that I slumped to the floor and sobbed.

If you send flowers, make sure she knows they're from you in advance. ...

Fraggle, I have sent flowers often to friends at a distance who are ill, struggling, lost a parent, caring for a parent, have done something kind for me.

It has always been appreciated - and I don't spoil the element of surprise because they are not expecting anything at all.

I found a great on-line site last year called bunches - far cheaper than others and good quality. Use Roses as a discount code at checkout and you get an extra 10% off.
