Concious uncoupling.

Just read the most irritating thing from Gwyneth Paltrow. Which takes some doing. Apparently, Chris Martin was too young to be a husband and father at 25 years of age. Too young for a man, according to Gwynnie. Is there some reason that a 25 year old man should still be thought of as a child, and if so, at what age are men considered grown up adults, for God's sake? If I were a man, I would be very annoyed at being infantalised like this.

Never mind whether he was too young to be a dad at 25, he was an awful lyricist.

Has anyone watched Mean Tweets on YouTube? It's a bit on a chat show we have, and celebrities read mean tweets about themselves.

Gwyneth did one. She took it on the chin so I like her better now :o

When we got married (eight years ago) DH was just shy of 27 and everyone said he was young. I was 24. We were parents nine months and four days later. So far it's going all right... :)

I just think if someone isn't an adult at 25, when are they? It got me to musing a bit that we seem to prolong childhood so much these days.

The responsibility that comes with parenthood means many things to different people. Unfortunately, the discovery of that meaning, is only discovered upon being a parent.

The manner in which they conduct their uncouplingi is more important than the whys.

He was too young to spot that she was a soul sucking, stepford vampire coming to get her fangs into him. (and lets face it he wasn't overburdened in the soul department to start with!)

She does also point out that she leaned on him too heavily for support. Isnt that taking some of the blame? none of us really knows them or has a clue what went in in thr marriage...why should we?

Seems like a fairly reasonable account that she's given to be honest. They both seem comitted to doing whats best for the kids.
