DH working all the time ( reposted)

I know he has to do it, but I haven't seen him properly for over 6 weeks now.

I'm exhusted because I haven't had a lie in due to having to get up with the DC for DH to work.

I'm doing all the housework and working part time myself ( not that I mind as the boredom is setting in)

I miss him terrible, but tonight we got a few bottles of wine in and some JD but then works called him in as there is another fucking problem.

He is a logistic manager ( promotion 2 months ago) but it's only him who can solve this issues on site. It would have been foolish to turn it down as it come with a very big pay rise which will mean we will be out of debt quicker than expected.

Today he went in at 9 and isn't due home to around 11ish.

Sorry for the rant, just needed to say it out load.

It's not normal to have to work all the time. He needs to look for another job.

Christ I thought mine works long hours. That is ridiculous.

Assumed you were going to say he's a surgeon or something.

There has to be some quality of life, else what's the point?

I changed role in the summer, and worked ridiculous hours because I was new so a bit slow, and there was a BIG crisis that blew up. (no extra money)
I barely saw my boyfriend, and it definitely impacted our relationship.

But... I had done years with the company, happy there, liked the role and could see it was temporary.

If he is in a similar position I'd say suck it up but try to get some time sacrosanct for each other.

If he's just got an ongoing take this piss situation, then no pay rise is worth your marriage and eventually his health.

LOL my DH left the house at 4 am and has just walked in at 10.45pm...day trip to Germany. He is gathering a load of washing to put on now....mad bloke...He always works 7am to 7pm. Total workaholic. He keeps telling me its just for a few years til we pay off the mortgage and then he'll go part time. Truth is, he loves his work....

Logistics manager between September and New Year is a job for maniacs. That's without people like me ringing up saying "Boss, I've run out of hours in Smethwick and there's voices coming from the trailer."

One of our lads came in the yard a while back with a sheep in the grille. Well, part of a sheep.

Nothing like Xmas run up to see people run out of hours! I've had 6 on a supplier site eating my pizza awaiting taxis with relief drivers and to take them home. (going back a few years now!)
It's a really interesting job, but 9-5 it ain't.

Grin Some years back I was at Tesco Goole when a hedgehog ran out into the yard, curled up and refused to move.

They coned it off and put a banksman by it until they'd got an opinion from the RSPCA on how to pick it it up.

OP its shit isn't it? When I was on Maternity leave my DH had to work 7 days a week and I was exhausted.

Can you book a holiday? Has he time off for Christmas?

I think OP, you are going to have to suck this one up at least over the busy period. Presumably it won't go on forever.

Well paid jobs are well paid for a reason.

I feel your pain, dh is a self employed heating engineer.

He booked us (as in me and his dc) for some family time yesterday and he ended up going into work for a quick job that took all day Hmm

We drift apart every winter and it sucks

My husbands the same at the moment it's crap but after a long time of being unemployed and on temp contracts he is permanent so i am sucking it up!! It does suck but sometimes work is important and it's easy for people to say look for another job but it's not that easy

I feel your pain. First 3 months of this year DH didn't have a day off Sad

We're just getting to the stage now where he's trying to cut back.

Is there any end in sight to your situation?
