Hello, sorry if this is the wrong section just wondered if anyone could offer me some advice.
I had a mirena coil fitted on Tuesday so 5 days ago, yesterday did the deed and it felt really sore inside, like a rubbing sensation. I also was left with an after pain across my lower stomach.My husband said he didnt like it either said it felt really strange.

Have I had sex too soon? Will it settle down the more we do it? I was sent home with a booklet but nothing about sex really.

Have you checked the strings are there? Just thinking it may be in the wrong place or something, to cause pain and feel funny. it does say in my booklet that your partner may feel them so it could just be that, and I had abdominal pain for the first month or more of getting mine, so that could be 'normal' too.

I have had a mirena for a few years and its never bothered me during sex, although one partner said he could sometimes feel the strings, others haven't mentioned it.

However, I think you should go back to see the gp/nurse and tell them - I've got a feeling they can trim the strings, and also tell them about the abdominal discomfort.

Tbh I havent checked the strings I cant bring myself to im so squeemish I know silly as it sounds.
I had it fitted at hospital and the doctor didnt show me about the strings and after I did read in the booklet and it said they should of showed me.

I have a contact number to call if I have any problems and I have been given a follow app for in 6 weeks dont know wether to just wait until then and see if settles down?

I had about 48 hours of bleeding and pain and then just cleared up so thought was fine to have sex
