Why do I never get the decent ones?!

I'm not really pissed off - in fact it's made me smile a bit even though it's odd.

Got friend requested by a man on FB. We have some mutual friends so I clicked accept. He started chatting to me at once, as if he knew me, but I genuinely don't ever remember meeting him. I chatted back nicely and he asked if I'd have a drink with him. I said I'd think about it...

So, next day, thinking, thinking..why not? Just a drink!

Then a massage pinged up from him.

"When we have our drink you're not going to get me drunk and take me back to yours and do rude things to me, are you?"

BUH-BYE!!!

Moral of the story: Nice men don't message random women on Facebook!!

So true OP, least you are wise!

A good illustration in that we're all different in what we think is funny and how we read a message or text - we put our own intonation in don't we? ....his message would have made me giggle as I'd presume he was being humorous and I'd have replied jokingly!

Moral of the story: Never accept a friend request from someone you don't know.

See your point Stopanuary but the vibe I got was that he wasn't being humouous...
overmydeadbody I usually don't but figured I must know him somehow as we had mutual friends. My error!

I would have replied 'god no, why the hell would I want to do that??' Grin

I don't know, my cousin (who as far as I'm aware is very nice) messaged a random woman on Facebook and they're now happily married with two children. I'm guessing he didn't make references to sex before they met up and that he's the exception though.
