no affection from husband

Basically as above. My husband never shows me any affection and treats me more like a live in friend. We have only been married 2 months and although this has been an ongoing thing i thought things might change. We have had the same conversation time and again and i have explained how it makes me feel..he then promises to try harder yadda yadda and nothing changes. I dont get it, he wont kiss me other than a quick peck, Says holding my hand goes through him and will only cuddle me when he fancies a shag which is rare. I have always put it down to that i am his first and only ever proper partner and he dosnt really know how to treat a girl romantically but now its breaking my heart that he dosnt even try make an effort even after telling him how i feel. Other than this we get on well, he is a good dad etc i just dont know what to do. Any advice?

He won't change ever. My dp is exactly the same but without the sex.
Believe me he will never change.

"I thought he might change"

This is a phrase used by women millions of times a year! They rarely do.

Unfortunately, despite the warning signs, you have married him when you never should have.

Some men just don't do intimacy and these are the men to avoid at all costs because they take away every little bit of self esteem you ever had.

Cut your losses now however painful that may be and whatever you do, don't have a child with him as it will get worse!

Oh sorry, I've just read that you do already have a child with him!

Mortal sin for all women to think they can change a man! I thought I could change a man too so your in good company.

Do you show him affection? How does he react when you do?

i feel for you OP.After only 2 months of marriage. The first years is when you usuallly cant get enough of each other. My DH has dropped all affection and even the sex now but that is after 28 yrs and ill health. It makes me feel quite lonely.

"Says holding my hand goes through him ".......seems to me this guy has a massive problem with any sort of intimacy. Seems to me you can't change that without proper counselling etc. If he won't agree to counselling, cut your losses and end the marriage. Rejection will eat away at every part of your self esteem.

Dont let it get to 13years you will be diagnosed with emotional stress. I am starting to wonder wtf i was thinking when i got married. If he shows no affection now he won't change.:-(

Marrying someone in the hope they'll magically change is a seriously big mistake. If this is 2 months in and he's never been any different (and I'm assuming if you have DCs you've known him a lot longer), this is as good as he gets. Is it good enough?
