Blocking texts on iphone 5S

If I block a caller, does it block texts as well? If it doesn't, is there a way of doing this please?

On iphone 4 if you block a caller it blocks calls, texts and whatsapp messages - so assume on 5 too?

Can you try it out with a friend first?
Block them and then get them to text you and see if it comes through.
It's easy to block a caller and I'm sure it must block everything.
Can you google it to make sure as well?

You won't receive phone calls, messages, or FaceTime calls from people on your block list

This is from apple website.
So yes, it will block everything.

As above & I have an iphone 5. All though I would say that whilst you don't get disturbed by calls from blocked numbers, they can still leave voicemail messages! Unless I'm doing something wrong...
