I completely agree.
How many women post on this board and describe awful physical and emotional abuse, but include the phrase "he says I'm over reacting" or "he calls me crazy."
It's another way of invalidating women's feelings, ie getting us to STFU.

When I think back, a large number of my past boyfriends always had "a crazy ex." One in particular from my uni days painted such a nutty picture of his crazy ex, I imagined her lurking in bushes ready to jump out screaming like a fish wife. I remember meeting her finally, after I'd broken up with the idiot. Shock - normal woman.

Sadly am on the mobile site and the blue bar is resolutely covering up your link! It gives me a tantalizing glimpse every now and then.

But I do agree it's so common for abusive men to refer to "crazy" ex's. Or to use that insult to justify horrible behaviour.

My ex used to hold our toddler son up in his arms, face him towards me, point at me and and say to him ...

"Look at her son, your mother's mad, she's crazy, she's off her head"

That was when I really started to hate his guts.

As I was reading the article, I was dreading the comments section. It did not disappoint! Butt-hurt men quibbling over semantics and forgetting about male privilege.
