Ex is ignoring 12 year old ds. Again!

At the beginning if the year he ignored his then 11 year old ds for 2 months. Ds was devastated. They had an argument over nothing. Once again he's ignoring ds call. Totally ds being rude to his dad but I'm already struggling supporting my son with his feelings of rejection. I just don't know what to do for the best, if anything at all. I just don't understand the mentality of a man who would do this to a child.

I think the only way to handle this situation is to explain to DS that it was wrong of him to be rude to his father, that he should apologise, but that it is wrong of his father to ignore his calls. You can have a discussion about how two wrongs don't make a right & how ignoring someone is a) very childish and b) akin to bullying. Was bullying or controlling behaviour part of the reason you broke up?

Is there a contact order in place or is the access something you've worked out between you? If it's a legal agreement then you could potentially write to your ex & tell him that he is in breach of the order.

Thanks cog. He knows he was wrong. Yes, I left his father because he was a bully, among other things. No contact order. His father decides when he does and doesn't see his son. He answered the phone today so they've spoke now. I'm resigned to the fact there's absolutely nothing I can do except support my son when he has to deal with the twat that is his father.
