friendship ????

Found out today by a mutual friend on fB that some I considered to be mY closet friend up untill three years ago has had a baby two weeks ago .
We'd stayed in touch intermittently but I am a little hurt she didn't even bother to text me .
We had a falling out years ago an d in a way I felt used by her but we made up but now I get feeling it was all a pretence .

You've seemed to have misjudged your friendship. Maybe to your friend after the fallout she decided to be civil rather than have a friendship?

That's what hurts I'd rather she hated me than be civil
She told me all about ivf ext she didn't have to helped me out by swapping work shifts when I wanted a new job but this hurt
Even a group text to let me know would hAve been civil

Perhaps she is sending out old fashioned 'birth announcement cards' (that's what I did ).

Do you specifically know that she has told other people about the birth or have you just heard in a round-about sort of way ie: someone else heard and told someone else & then you got to hear?

Did you know she was pregnant? How often do you speak? If you don't speak often then (don't know hoe to say this without sounding mean)- I wouldn't expect her to tell you. You used to be friends and now you're just acquaintances.
