Living in same house but seperated

Does anyone share a house with partner but no communication. Is it possible to ask for divorce but stay in house till house sells so you both can move on. He's not going to move out but I need to stay put for children 2 under 16. Any advice. Also what to say when asking for divorce without all the drama. Can not do another slanging match. thank you x

It's possible, but ghastly. I lived in the same house as XH for over two years before the house was sold and it's a wonder my sanity is anywhere near intact. Do get some legal advice as soon as possible from a solicitor specialising in family law, and if you get a chance to move out sooner rather than later, I recommend you take it.

As for the drama, well, that's not really within your control, is it? You can put it as gently as possible but the party of the second part may choose to turn it into slanging if it pleases them. Neither of you may be particularly happy living like that, but that doesn't mean he will take it well if you propose a split.
