It's totally passed him by. He has bought gifts, they are in a box (unwrapped) under his desk 30cm from where he is sitting! We're both off work this week so he's had ALL DAY!! AIBU to want to castrate him?

Your self-control is amazing I'd have signalled I was agog by now! Maybe he's expecting you to crack and ask for your gifts. Lucky when a significant date falls on a weekend, hope he's got a treat lined up for you.

Castration might be a little harsh.... Say nothing and see how long it is before the gifts are given. Could be amusing. Or is this forgetfulness the tip of a bigger iceberg?

Meh, I even paid for lunch (at the place of his choosing ) despite not being able to eat most of it because I'm pregnant... Olives and poncy bread was my birthday lunch while he tucked into blue cheese and cured meats. I've got a tesco Indian meal for tea. I'm right grumpy now though he has clearly forgotten, no excuses. I will get my revenge

And... Why aren't u telling him it's your birthday and asking if he's forgotten? I had a close friend a long time ago who used to get so upset and angry at me for forgetting her birthday. If only shed slipped it into the conversation a few weeks before I would have remembered. Unless it's the tip of the iceberg, as cogito said. Or you have received cards and put them up. Or he"s by nature a tease... ... Why not ..." U know those beautifully wrapped presents 30cm away from your feet... Are they mine... And can I bloody open them if so????

Oh and we only get post twice a week (v. Rural) I'll get any birthday stuff on our next post day (Monday) I've had texts from parents and friends- he's been oblivious!

Having said that........... Many years ago my husband forgot, nay - decided to ignore - our first wedding anniversary. Let's just say he never forgot again! :)

My dh didn't get me anything. He also bought me a card for someone who is 30 (I just turned 35)
He's not usually this shit so I've no idea what's going on.
So I went on pandoras website and treated myself to a couple of charms and a free leather bracelet ;)

Tbh I don't make a fuss about birthdays, he just came out to ask why I'd been so moody and I told him. Apparently I'm wrong and my birthday's tomorrow... Silly me getting the wrong day (believe me, I may be pregnant, hormonal and stroppy but I do remember even with baby brain that I was born on the 25th July...) now can I castrate him?

I believe that this way of behaviour is known as "green shield stamp collecting" (remember them?). You collect up each transgression, and stick them on your collector's card. You keep taking it out, looking at all of the stamps, showing it to other people... Even when you're not pouring over it, you know it's there in your pocket for when you want to feel all resentful.

on the bright side, he did remember your birthday was at the end of July, and bought you a gift in good time, he just got the actual date wrong... I bet he was planning wrapping them tonight to give you tomorrow and make a fuss.

Can you suggest you make tomorrow your 'official' birthday and get spoilt rotten all day?
