Who here is truly content?

How do you define your contentment?
What makes you content and how can others achieve it?
Rather philosophical but I have a friend who keeps asking me this and I never know how to answer her so I thought I'd ask you lot and hopefully someone will be able to help.

But would it really make you happy??

(It's like people who say that about winning the lottery - I'm already happy, so how could it hurt to just not have to worry anynmore???)

I am I think. Doesn't mean I don't dream, I just enjoy the dreams rather than fret because they're not reality.

Me

Very happy and love dh, love my kids, love my job, nice house, enough money. We are exceptionaly fortunate.

Only slight upset is dh's medical woes which have me worried most of the time.

Pollyanna · 13/09/2006 17:14

I'm not, I'm such a malcontent - I would love to be though, so any tips welcome!

gawd Pollyanna - if you can't be optimistic with that user name...

Me, and it's good to be able to say that after a few very very difficult years. I have dh to thank for being the world's most patient and supportive dh and pulling me through some extremely dark times.

I think I am
things are settled, there are no ups and downs, kids are happy, dp and I are happy even given he works away.
No money troubles, car works, pregnancy going well
Cannot think of anything that makes me not content
My life sounds soooo boring is that to be confused with contentment ?

i'd be a lot more content if it weren't for the letter i got this morning from the council demanding £480 back in overpaid housing benefit!

but apart from that, i am content. currently 23 weeks pregnant, finally got house looking how we want, have fabulous DP, getting married end of this month (not that i was very content about that for a while, but that's a whole nother thread!!)...i read library books, see friends, see family....when i think about it, life's pretty good actually!

rosebea · 13/09/2006 17:58

I'm content with my family life but I hate working cause it means leaving my baby's.
I think contentment is when there a few moments of the day when you look around you and know that you wouldn't change anything about that moment even if you could.
