How on earth do I leave??

I've lost all trust and respect for DP and I'm looking into the practicalities of leaving. We have no children but he has a DS which I will be upset at leaving.

The problem is his Dad has a terminal illness. We aren't sure how long he has. How can I leave someone when their whole world is about to be turned upside down?
Should I wait?

How long does his Dad have? If its a week or two maybe wait, but if it's unsure then just leave.

DO you want to be kept hanging on for months/years?

Also, will it be any easier leaving when he has just lost his father? Maybe you will get over that and then it will be his sons birthday/Christmas/redundancy etc etc.

If you really want to leave maybe just leave?

There's never a good time to end a relationship really. What's worse? Telling him now or faking it until he's actually bereaved? Don't envy your dilemma but it's often kinder to be honest.
