How do you deal with old flames / Ones That Got Away?

I'm happily married but recently got an email from a gorgeous fellow from the past, who I had been head over heels with at the time. Do you just not answer them?

If your reaction is anything other than to think "oh, how nice to hear what he is up to now", then it's probably inadvisable to answer, imo.

I answered politely after saying to my DH, you'll never guess who's just emailed me.

I've never felt the need to revisit or regret my past as my present and my future are everything I could have dreamed of.
