Since I split from my STBXH 18 months ago these are some of the gems my Mum has come out with -

  1. Have you not met everyone else yet?? - This is question is probably asked every week or so.
  1. A woman needs a man - a woman without a man, well it's just not right - Too flabbergasted to respond to that one.
  1. A woman needs regular sex, it's ok for a man he can masturbate any old time. Well a woman can masturbate but it's not the same is it? Jesus wept I am not talking to my 70 year old Mum about masturbation

Parents round at 2.20pm - is it too early for a Wine???

My Mum used to talk almost entirely in proverbs. (Of the 'A stitch in time' variety.) It has had the result that I'm probably a world-class repository of folk wisdom but it made life difficult at the time.

I'd start the Wine at about 14.10. If you're too sloshed by the time she arrives, the meal will be a disaster and you'll probably end up yelling at her.

Already had "how does dd1 feel when you hand her over- she must feel the tension". Thanks for that, hadnt spent any time worrying about how my situation affects my 3 year old at all mum.

Wine o clock for me....
