Went out for a couple of beers with dh last night and a woman butted into our evening with the comment of 'was I having an affair with dh?' I replied, rather shocked I might add, 'no, this is my husband.' She then asked were we in love, naturally I asked why, and she said she had to ask because I wasn't wearing a wedding ring, but dh was!! She then left, leaving me shocked.

I really don't know what difference it makes if I wear a ring or not, I could still be having an affair with another married man...what a weird woman.

Sorry just had to have a moan.

I'd have told her to clear off.

How mad! DH doesn't wear a wedding ring, but not because he doesn't love me!

adozenroses · 01/09/2006 11:22

I wear my ring sometimes, but being female - certain times of the month I retain water and my fingers swell a little!! It just threw me off guard and I didn't really know what to say to her.

i just got a glimpse of that woman's mind a12roses and noticed that it was and narrow as spaghetti.

fairyjay · 01/09/2006 11:28

My dh doesn't wear a ring because he's already lost 3!!!!

pixiepins · 01/09/2006 12:37

perhaps she fancied your hubby and wanted to know what the sit was so she could have an 'affair' with him too?
maybe she was jelous of you? i'd have asked what it was to do with her?
honestly, some people!

themoon66 · 01/09/2006 12:40

I never wear my ring and DH doesnt have one. Wonder what she'd have made of that.

Seriously though, I think she may be not well mentally. I work in a psychiatric unit and once, as I was finishing work and walking out of the door to meet DH sitting in car outside, one of our madder patients rushed out and started attacking me for getting into a car with 'her' husband. Totally delusional, but scary.

she is clearly bonkers

coppertop · 01/09/2006 12:52

I would've been tempted to say yes it's an affair and generally wind her up.

Maybe she was after a threesome.

lemonaid · 01/09/2006 12:59

Lower voice meaningfully and say "actually, I am wearing a ring... just not anywhere you can see it [suggestive wiggle of eyebrows]. Would you like to know any more intimate personal details or can we get back to our conversation now?"

zdl · 01/09/2006 13:12

I think that woman would have left me in a fit of giggles. You can't take people like that seriously.

adozenroses · 01/09/2006 14:07

Dh found her really funny and he naturally jumped to the conclusion of she must fancy him!! I think it was more shock that a stranger was being really nosey about my personal life. It was very funny and odd all at the same time
