I was on dating sites last year and started seeing a guy who I really fell for but it turned out he only wanted sex and it fizzled out after a few weeks. The last date I went on was in February. Nice guy but there was no attraction on my part.

Lemony, that's such a sweet way to meet. The train guy has no wedding ring but I'm pretty sure if I saved him a seat, he would think I'm crazy I can't even make eye contact without blushing, let alone actually say something to him. It's an unspoken rule that no one talks to each other in London.

I don't know if you can afford to do up your house but my friend was a single mum, didn't get out much and moaning about being in a similar position with no sex life, then her parents gave her some money to do up the old house they had kindly bought for her.
Within a year she had shagged a double glazing installer, a plumber, an electrician and 1 other though I can't remember his trade.
She was happy, dry spell broken, house looked great, work was done well, tradesmen happy. Win win situation.

If you have your DC 24/7 purpleknickers how are you planning to date in the first place? Personally, I'd have have thought you'd be better placed for sex dates rather than trying to get a relationship off the ground.

One thing that often works well for single parents in terms of child-free time is reciprocal babysitting with other single parents (seems to work much better than with coupled parents). You also get the benefit of an additional social life because if you don't want to go out, you can have a single parent with DC over, who can share wine with you and crash out on the sofa, much more easily than you can accommodate a couple in most cases.
