Update from last week - DH reluctant to spend child-free weekend with me

Last time I posted DH had finally asked DS if he would do us a favour & go on the trip so DH & I could spend the bank holiday weekend alone together (our first child-free break in 5 years). DS had happily agreed, as I expected.

However the trip was already fully booked.

So for everyone who gave me their support & encouragement, together with all those who would love a child-free break occasionally too but who are unlikely to get one, I would like you to know I thought of you & how lucky I was during a wonderful 3 day trip, on my own, exploring . . .

. . . PRAGUE!

Couldn't wait to hug & kiss the family on my return of course though.

(DH is still working on his much more complicated original plan of a child-free weekend away in a few weeks for our anniversary, requiring his DM & DF to provide childcare Grin)

I remember your thread, glad your enjoying your trip and you will hopefully get some child free time with your dh soon.

Can you not just arrange for him to sleepover at a friend's house, and return the favour sometime? Much simpler - we do it al the time.

Do you know, it had been such hard work convincing DH last weekend was a golden chance to have time alone together that I'd lost interest in the idea & was happy to swan off & enjoy time on my own.

Good for you I'm glad you went anyway! Smile

Thanks everyone Thanks

I felt bad taking so much money out of the family pot just for me but decided, just like Cheryl, "I'm worth it".
