what do you think?

If it was up to me I rarely would turn it on but DH press the button the min he gets in and we end up watching every crap that's on till bed time.

after that I'm not in the mood anymore.

i'm planning to take the fuses out of the plugs and pretend the damn thing is broken...

in our house it's MN that ruins our sex life - DH watches crap on telly so I come on here

Bugsy2 · 24/08/2006 10:02

Too much telly ruins everything!!!!

CheesyFeet · 24/08/2006 10:18

Depends what you're watching

UselessMum · 24/08/2006 10:19

tommy when I did that DH accused me of spending all my time chatting on the net... unbelievably double standards!

tbh though, by the time we have out DSs to bed, I've cooked dinner and we've eaten it, I'm too knackered to do anything but faff around on here or just go to bed (to sleep)

Nemo1977 · 24/08/2006 11:31

we watch a lot of tv and dh is like yours. however it hasnt stopped me being pg 4 times in past 3 yrs..lol

Cailyn3 · 24/08/2006 14:00

This makes me think of what my MIL said when we told her we were expecting baby 3 - she told us we weren't watching enough telly! We told her that the programmes were so boring we found more fun things to do!

Dunnyjo · 24/08/2006 14:36

There are many a nights where we sit in front ofthe telly!so one night i had quick shower put something nice on trun the telly off, put the radio station on (i like magic) and light some candles (dh just sat there watching wondering what the heck i was doing, obviously shocked lol) Get some wine (whatever your drink) sit yourself beside him and say lets just spend time together
Since then dh actually surprises me with lighting candles and putting the radio on lol its our thing now so we both know what is next

moondog · 24/08/2006 14:39

Oh it's awful.
It sucks the life out of everyone.

We never watch tv. For one thing, most of it is shit and I can't think Iwould ever have the time!

And sorry to sound smug, but a nice dinner with music and candles is sacred in our house (when dh home.Obviously don't go to quite the samelengths when just me and children.

UselessMum · 24/08/2006 14:48

you're not smug moondog, that's just how it should be, most of the time at least.
I am not against watching something one is actually interested in but to have it constantly on it BAAAAD. Once it's on you just get sucked in really.

I am really thinking of temporarily disconnecting it and see how it goes. after all when we go to Italy (DH doesn't understand Italian) we have lovely romantic dinners, long chat and all that follows...

and we never miss anything we might have not watched.

OP posts:
moondog · 24/08/2006 14:51

Yes,like most things, you don't miss it after the first day or so.

You just get soooooo much more done too!!!

noddyholder · 24/08/2006 14:51

I agree am thinking of having a designated no tv night once a week to start i am as guilty as dp of sitting there staring all night !

CurrantBun · 25/08/2006 16:11

We are quite bad at just getting sucked into watching any old crap, although there was a phase a few months ago when there were so many things on we wanted to watch (ER, Lost, Desperate Housewives, House, Grey's Anatomy) that we barely had time for sex - probably why it took me a while to conceive!

Flamey · 25/08/2006 16:18

World of f*ckin Warcraft has done worse than tv does.

tiredemma · 25/08/2006 16:19

too much sex in my house is ruining my tv viewing time. seriously- im sick of being interrupted during 'silent witness'

desperateSCOUSEwife · 25/08/2006 16:23

give him something better to watch then

foe example you dressed in some sexy lingerie
standing in front of the telly

as long as the blinds or curtains are shut

dont want half ya street seeing ya bare arse

UselessMum · 26/08/2006 07:34

To update you all: I pretended the telly wasn't working and IT WORKED!!! super

OP posts:
UselessMum · 26/08/2006 07:35

PS: I'll make sure it's fixed in time for Lost though!!
