So I went on my first date in 16 years and am happy to report that it was really rather wonderful. We went for a walk, chatted and had coffee and cake (he had a flapjack). He was very easy company and we 'just got on'.

Happy days :)

It is making me :) too!

And, yes, we are going out for dinner one evening the weekend after next (shift patterns and childcare issues are self-moderating us getting carried away with the moment which is no bad thing).

So far, he has been super nice and very easy company and he has said a few things which make me think "he gets it" (my responsibilities, Uni, kids and such like).

It is not so much so far so good, but so far pretty bloody amazing! Plus, it is good to know he must fancy me by his actions, and he has nice teeth!

Has he any nice friends? I have been single far to long now shame I dont seem willing to do anything about it. Love hearing about other romances though.

It's like a movie!

chocolatespiders, I split up fro my XH in 2010, got together with my previous XP (bad move), split up from him in November and then met this guy in the New Year. I wasn't looking, just walking my dog shrugs

InkleWinkle, I know, am trying to keep my feet on the ground and not get carried away!

FP, just saw your message, what's up with flapjacks????

Indeed there is CS! Mind, if you are happy on your own then that's cool. After I licked my wounds at New Year, I did decide that if I got asked out, invited to events or whatever, studies aside, I would go and make the most of things. I was not going to wallow in post-relationship sadness for a prescribed period of time.

And then this :)

I am happy on my own- sometimes!! I am not the easiest person to have relationship with due to past abuse from dd dad 17 years ago.. One day maybe I will be more welcoming of the idea.
How's it going?

Ps I love flapjack Smile
