Dating just for a good time now n then - is it ok with older DC's?

i dont want anything heavy but a very nice chap has asked me out just for a nice time, he is in same position as me, teen dc's.

My DC has been badly let down by his DF, DF having virtually dropped since he got his new partner and I dont want DC to be upset more than he already has.

But it would be nice to be taken out now and then, to have flowers bought for me? Would it be ok?
I dont want to take this man home or make him part of family, far too early days.
Do I need to tell DC? Is there any point till its more serious, if ever?
My DC has to come first at the moment, but is it ok to have a bit of a life of my own?

Yes it's fine, no need to mention but don't lie if asked eg 'Where you off mum?' ' Just out for dinner with John'. How old are the kids?

Of course it is OK, even if the DC were younger there is no harm in going out and having a bit of fun. All they need to know is you are going out with a friend. Go and enjoy it!

I think by that age it's good for them to see you having a bit of a life of their own - otherwise how are they going to eventually fly the nest? Good for you - enjoy
