We are both 43 so people can't believe we have been married this long. DS is now 20 has been mistaken for DH's brother before. We had a reaffirmation wedding on 12th April 13 years ago?that feels like my real wedding. We got married again on the beach in Queensland. Our first wedding we had no money & just went to the registry office, got married & came home. I had no wedding dress, honeymoon or anything. I don't have any parents & not sure if anyone read my stingey mil post but in laws gave us nothing either.
I felt very sad on my wedding day, we don't have any decent photos but made up for it with our reaffirmation. It was just DH's, me & ds. We had our own special day.

Congratulations on your anniversary!

Just goes to show that big, show off weddings, loads of pressies and lots of cash splashed around are not what it's all about. If I were to do all again I would do it as you had 21 years ago.

Have a great day.

Wow this sounds like me and hubby. We got married at register office and had our reception at local golf club, it was lovely, we had a great day. The only thing lacking was support of family, we were too young to be getting married and having children apparently! But its what we wanted, we didn't have the money for a big fancy wedding but wanted to be husband and wife so went for it and just said we're getting married in 6 weeks, come if u want!

We haven't been married as long as u, we're on 4 years. I would like one day to renew our vows in a gorgeous place with our closest friends and truly supportive family members like u, I think its a lovely idea. Some people have said we didn't have a 'proper wedding' but hey u just have to ignore it don't u, we are so happy, have a gorgeous little boy and are expecting again
(Due Nov).

Congratulations on your anniversary and just be happy, I have spent so long over thinking the shitty things people have said to us and then I realise I'll never change their minds and the best thing to do is just get on and be happy and let them see what u have x
