Anyone feel like they will never find anyone as good as an ex?

I still really love my ex. It was quite a recent break up. We got on so well, had loads in common, great spark, amazing sex and conversation but we had to let it go due to distance. I feel like I found a great man and noone can live up to him.

Lucky you. i am sure that having found this lovely man you will know another lovely man when you see him!

As for me, if my ex were picked up by little green men and dumped on a far away planet it would not be far enough away for me. And i seriously doubt that anyone else could live down to him...and hope I am never proven wrong.

I suspect distance makes the heart grow fonder. Amazing sex is brilliant but can be dulled when real life sets in and you have to wash and iron the sheets every week!

I will never find anyone as amazing as my husband, though fifteen years on he's not as amazing as I used to think he was! But he's lovely and kind and loving now, in ways I could wouldn't have appreciated back then x

Like you say, it's a recent break-up. There are millions of men in the world so, statistically speaking, your ex is not the only one with whom you're going to be compatible. Enjoy your independence in the meantime....

I used to feel like that. In fact I even married the next guy I dated, believing that I had found and lost the love of my life and I might as well settle for less.

I was wrong. My exH and I were doomed from the start and the relationship became abusive before ending in divorce. I am now 2 years into a relationship with a lovely man who truly is the love of my life. That first relationship pales into insignificance beside this one, and not just because 20 years have passed.

Is distance the only issue? Me and my DH live in different countries - this is NOT how we imagined spending married life but we wouldn't want to be on our own or with other people so we are making it work.

If he's that fab, don't let him go. However if it's gone, then it just proves you can have that good a relationship, there are nice blokes out there, keep looking and don't settle for a crap one.
