Seeing my dad for the first time in 18 months, quite scared

Just that really, i'm up at this hour because I'm nervous of seeing my own father, who's in his 80s!

I may say that my dad has never done anything to me and I have no reason to be scared.

Oh dear, I wish it was over.

Hi joan!
Maybe you're just excited and have got butterflies in your stomach which your brain is interpreting as fear Confused

Are you looking forward to seeing him?

(I saw my dad on his 80th birthday earlier this month for the first time in a year, but we live on the opposite sides of the world and are used to long absences)

I'd never thought that I might be excited.

I don't think so this time. Actually I don't ever remember looking forward to seeing my dad. Maybe that's in hindsight.

How long have you lived so far apart?

21 years!

Hope the meeting with your dad goes OK - he's not going to be around for ever...

Why have you not seen him in 18 months? What's the backstory?
