I've made an appt with a counsellor tomorrow to talk about sex. I'm worried and nervous and think I might cry. My story basically is I'm not interested in sex at all, I'm not a fan of touching during sex and have hygiene issues. This is driving a wedge between me and hubby. What should I expect? Help

Oh, I am sorry I have no useful things to say but didn't want to read and run. I have had a few bouts of counselling and it is always harder getting to the appt than once you are there. I have no idea what your appt will be like if with a sex counsellor, never done that, or is it a general counsellor to talk about sex?

What should you expect? An opportunity to discover why you feel the way you do in a confidential and non-judgemental environment.

If you haven't as yet met your counsellor, and no preliminary assessment was made by him/her or another party prior to your first session, it's likely that it will be spent exploring any historic events which may have manifested the difficulties you experience in expressing your love for your dh in a sexual manner.

Don't expect a great deal from your first session; negative thinking of many years duration isn't overcome in a matter of what may be less than an hour's work.
