I think I have ended my relationship, I think its the right thing but help, panicking.

We have a 6 month old baby who I adore. We keep arguing, I dont want my baby to grow up with this.
Anyone been there/at there now?

How long have you been arguing for? What do you argue about? Do either of you get aggressive when you argue?

Having a young baby is really difficult even though you love them sooo much - how was the relationship before then?

He was my first baby really, I pay the bills, do the DIY, take the grown up responsibilities.

We can argue sensibly in a resolving way ay times, not aggressive but he can be spiteful when upset.

Got drunk last night and told me that I'm a bad mother, was acting strangely, rude to a visiting friend. I asked him to go upstairs and he snapped 'your tit is leaking' I just felt really shit as am breatfeeding, it just felt degrading :(

I am finding it difficult to put my foot down, he has now become hysterical - saying that he has nowhere to go, and no money. That was his first thought, then said he didnt want to see son :(

He said "your tit is leaking"? For god's sake. And why wouldn't he want to see your son? He's complaining you are rude yet he's incredibly rude.

If you think it's the end, then you have to stay firm. Count to ten whilst he's getting hysterical.

He sounds very cruel and as a new Mum this just isn't how you should be treated and he should not be behaving like this as a new dad - what support do you have? you need to confide in a friend/relative.

He is jealous of the baby because he is just an immature toddler. He needs it spelled out to him that as the baby isn't capable of independence he is your first priority. DH either has to shape up or ship out.

I'm sure you are a great mother BTW. And we all had leaking tits but not all of them spoke aloud!! Grin

It sounds like very unpleasant behaviour. However, can't we all be spiteful when we're upset? Having a baby can put a big strain on a relationship. How were things before the baby came?

Well it seems that you have now put your foot down OP and good for you, some men become jealous of their off-spring and it seems he is one of them. He's being a total arse and may continue to be. Just stay strong now and detach a bit, true colours might be coming to the fore here.

Thanks guys for the support, we are under a lot of strain at the mo. I just need to chill and have given him a good talking to. Sometimes it helps to yelp into cyberspace. Relationships are hard.
