Hypocrite for reading 50 shades of grey?

danni99 · 01/08/2012 19:55

My partner said that im a Hypocrite because I read 50 shades of grey and watch magic mike. He is saying this because I told him I don?t like it when he watchs porn. So my question to you is do you think it?s a double standard if we read 50 shades and watch magic mike. We don?t have much of a leg to stand on if we don?t want our partners watching porn. He made a good point what do you think?

no it's not a double standard. No-one is exploited when writing a novel, its all in the authors imagination.

Your partners argument is utter crap.

WTF is magic mike?

Houseofplain · 01/08/2012 19:57

I'm not even getting into that argument as it superficial to the T and just thinks as far as your own sexual kicks.

You are however being vvvvvvvu for reading that illiterate horse shit.

GoldenFucker · 01/08/2012 20:00

you want an honest opinion ?

I dunno if you are being a hypocrite (because I couldn't give a shit what your partner does), but you are certainly making like a sheep and demonstrating a lack of informed intelligence

you did ask Smile

mummyddoll · 01/08/2012 20:05

You get some sort of sexual pleasure out of fifty shades?he gets his out of porn, wheres the problem in this?:) surely its only healthy,as long as you put time into each other aswell?;) do you think we r jealous when men watch porn because we know at that time we are not putting 100% into our sex lives?

tittytittyhanghang · 01/08/2012 20:07

imo yes, i do think you are being slightly hypocritical.

anairofhopeFORGOLD · 01/08/2012 20:11

No because book is fantasy noone gets hurt but porn is real people who can get hurt.

Tell dh you agree so he is only allowed to read about porn and not watch it. Problem sloved :)

MadAboutHotChoc · 01/08/2012 20:14

I don't have a problem with erotic fiction (have not read 50 shades though) as real life people are not being raped, abused or trafficked - unlike internet porn.

I would be interested to know why it is hypocritical though.

danni99 · 01/08/2012 20:19

ok what about Magic Mike then?

OP posts:
MadAboutHotChoc · 01/08/2012 20:21

what is it?

Houseofplain · 01/08/2012 20:22

It's a film based on a male stripper.

anairofhopeFORGOLD · 01/08/2012 20:23

Link or explain please. I need a hint on that one lol

GoldenFucker · 01/08/2012 20:24

I don't agree with female strippers

and I don't agree with male strippers

and burlesque ?

it's stripping for non-drug-addicted posh fat birds

any more ?

GoldenFucker · 01/08/2012 20:25

and the posh fat birds often wear glasses

puds11 · 01/08/2012 20:28

Your partner is just trying to get the upper hand, and will no doubt throw this in your face next time you catch him wanking over porn. Sounds like a lovely man.

anairofhopeFORGOLD · 01/08/2012 20:28

Well what about most film with sex in them? Moulin Rouge is set in paris sex sence!

What about purfume ads or dance videos? Blink 182 video for "whats my age again" where they are naked?

Sex is everywhere porn is just hardcore its up to you where you draw the line.

MadAboutHotChoc · 01/08/2012 20:31

Due to stripping being linked to the sex industry and prostitution, I do not agree with stripping.

SirBoobAlot · 01/08/2012 20:37

Magic Mike is a comedy film about male strippers. Think "The Full Monty" but slightly more attractive.

No, you're not being a hypocrite. Different media types, and operated in different ways.

Plus 50 Shades is shite.

Houseofplain · 01/08/2012 20:37

My one experience of a male stripper was when I was 18. He was in the pub I was drinking in for a ladies night. He got his cock out and put it in my drink. How humiliating for him.

My one experience of a female stripper, was with my first serious boyfriend. His family were misogynistic ass holes. So, so glad I dumped him, lads, will be lads. All of that bollocks. It was a woman in her 40s. She'd had kids. She got naked, let him lick cream of her tits, Infront of the wife and KIDS, yes kids. It was a family 40th or something.

They all thought it was fabulous.

I detest stripping in all forms. I've been scarred for life. Seriously.

BonkeySaysTeamGBAreTheMollocks · 01/08/2012 20:46

OP How would you feel about him reading erotic fiction?

dondon33 · 01/08/2012 20:48

Hypocritical ? Only if you're masturbating while reading 50 shades of shite or watching Magic Mike. under the assumption that he wanks to porn
If not then No, I don't think you are.

OMG houseofplain! you certainly haven't had positive experiences with strippers. even if there is such a thing
I've seen them at parties, hen nights or whatever but it's not something I would go out and look for myself. I think they look stupid TBH. My family all know it's more than their lives are worth to ever surprise me with one. I'd be furious :)

MsOnatopp · 01/08/2012 20:48

It deoends on whether your being against porn is from a feminist point of view or wether you don't like him looking at other women sort of thing.

If it's mainly the latter, then yes, you are being hypocritical.

MsOnatopp · 01/08/2012 20:48

depends whether
