do I give good friend my honest opinion?

I have a brilliant friend who has given me fab support over the last few, tough, years.she has recently started a new relationship with someone who I hope is the right person for her..but its only 2 months into their relationship.I find him a bit over bearing, but she seems really happy.my friend is in her thirties and successful in her work. The partner had just had her initials tattoo Ed on him..has several already, and she told me she is to do the same.never thought she would go in for tattoos and am a bit concerned she could regret this..she was a bit vulnerable before she met him.if I tell her my concerns, I don't want to make her think that I think this relationship is not going to last...

On this one I'm going to say no.
She won't thank you for your scepticism. Even if you are most likely right.

Oh god, you have to stop her! She can't possibly get herself tattooed with his initials EVER, never mind after two months. She'll look like she's been in prison!

Surely getting a tattoos so soon must be a massive RED FLAG!

Relationships that move so quickly are usually bad news....so I agree with you on that front...but if she's in deep enough to the point of getting a ridiculous tattoo, then she's not going to listen.

Be there for her when if it all goes tits up. Maybe with some suggestions for a cover up job at the tattoo studio.

Knuckles? Lush! I can't post too much about their circumstances as 1 its their rel not mine and 2 if someone were to recognise them it would cause a lot of upset ..yrs you guessed it its Russell brand and Demi more...seriously, my friend was targeted by him and risked a lot to be with him...it freaks me for her.and no, am not remotely jealous!

Has she asked you for your opinion or are you thinking of just offering it out of the blue? How do you think she will react to that?

Harsh pants...she told me she was going to have it done, but he was there at the time.w have got a close relationship where we support each other even if we don't agree with each others choices, but we still give honest opinions, respect fully.I guess the deeper bit probably is that I am concerned for her that this is all a bit much

What are the initials?

If they're AD or BC at least she can have a year, i.e. 2012 tattooted in front of them if the relationship goes tits up, and if they're ED she could have 'end' tattooed in front of them when the inevitable happens.

If she's determined to get stamped as his tramp bitch, tell her her get the initials done in lower case and leave sufficient space between to add more letters at a later date if they're ones which will be a bugger to turn into one word.

Why not just tell her she's being a silly cow bucking the trend because tattoos have been done to death and are so last year, dahling.

Izzy, it is so not like her. Without putting the initials, she could have it doctored at a later date to mean something else but would look pretty stupid! Is not planning for it to be on public view but I just think aagh what the f is she thinking?! He is far too familiar with my children too..not sure if trying to shore her what a good dad he could be if they sprogged, out if he is just very self confident.something does not sit right..and his tattoos are a bit crappy!

Sometimes telling people not to do something just convinces them that they absolutely must do it. So you might shoot yourself in the foot here.

Personally I'd just say ah, O-Kay in a really unenthusiastic tone and change the subject if it comes up. If you aren't involved you won't be blamed, and if it all goes wrong just be a good mate and don't judge.
