DH 'doing Sunday dinner easily' so I can watch Wimbledon GRRRR

My DH always prepares the veg for Sunday dinner. I always cook Sunday dinner. I don't mind, but it irritates me when he thinks it's "just a case of bunging the pans on" and doesn't appreciate that I am tied to the kitchen for an hour or so, timing and juggling yorkshires, roast spuds etc etc.
Anyway today he is cooking lunch so I can watch tennis (1 set all at the moment!! I'm on my iPhone). He has put the beef and spuds in the oven and gone to play on the Xbox. The kitchen is full of smoke. The roasties are getting a bit black! I've gone as far as to open the back door.
They are nearly ready but he hadn't yet put the mash or veg on. I just asked him when he put the stuff in the oven and he said "ten minutes ago" - he had lost track of time hee hee.
My dilemma is - do I take over and go into the kitchen, missing the tennis OR leave him to it, let it burn and be a smug cow???

Cross post - thanks for the translation!

Bubbless - the meat is saved! DH tells me the roasties are now like 'little charred jacket potatoes' and the mash is boiling away and the steamer WAS on but is now OFF.
If I go in the kitchen he grins at me.
God I love this man!!

What about wine??

We have yorkshires at every opportunity because we are the grown ups now and we like them.

Im not drunk nor insane.Blush

I have another language's keyboard on my phone and it must have turned itself on. It didnt make sense in the other language too.

Spuddybean · 08/07/2012 17:23

there are yorkshire rules, people! you can't go round having easily made egg, flour and milk batter whenever you feel like it! What's that? you can? oh...

If i didn't follow the batter rules, i would have pancakes/yorkshires every single day and die happy of heart failure.

I sometimes make extra yorkshires and have them with home made raspberry jam in the kitchen after dinner while i'm pretending to wash up mmmmm

Trills · 08/07/2012 17:23

So glad to hear it! Ask him to repeat the process next week to make sure it isn't a 'fluke' and he gains extra points or a clean kitchen!

Slugslasher · 08/07/2012 17:36

for*

slartybartfast · 08/07/2012 17:38

i've yet to stick my roast on!

ImperialBlether · 08/07/2012 17:39

Yes, I think he needs a LOT more practice!

MushroomSoup · 08/07/2012 17:52

I said how nice it was and he said "well it's easy, isn't it?"
Back to square 1!
Although when the DCs asked where the yoshies were he had the grace to say, "there aren't any, I can't make them!"
