We are close but, not that close.

She started a conversation with me in the car last week. About someone "you wont remember" It was 26 years ago, I do remember her "friend" at the time my dad had gone on one of his trips and not come back. They have since divorced although she talks about him as if they are still married and now she tells me that this bloke has been back in touch as he has decided to retire to his home town and that there's no harm in going on a date with him, is there? She has had a bf for 15 years. They dont live together. I just said to her that there is no harm in going on a date but, what about her bf? she said he only wants her for lifts to the club. I like her bf!!

As I'm guessing she's over the age of consent I suggest you let her decide who she's going to date or not, as the case may be, and be on hand to hear all the gory details murmur words of comfort if it goes tits up with either/both of her suitors.

She's obviously bored of her current bf. So just leave her to it with the date thing. She might find the other fella a complete bore. At least she'll know, and can choose which one she'd rather be with. Just hope she breaks up with the other bf quickly and painlessly, and carry on with her life.
