Someone that I was involved with many moons ago. Was fine to go out with. The evening would start off lovely, until the drinks came out, even then, he was fun then he would pick up on one thing I would say and make a huge song and dance about it. Once, he stood up so sharply the table with all our drinks on it toppled over and he left. Another time, he threw a drink in my face and, left leaving me there sitting with everyone looking. That was the last time I ever went out with him. It was years ago.

Recently he has been spotted in a hotel bar throwing a drink at his companion, running off to their room, her trotting after him and the whole hotel being kept awake with him screaming at her.

Another time, he was sat with a woman and my friend and her husband sat with them, they had a lovely night until he turned around to this woman and said "who are you, do I know you?" and flounced off to his room, her following him and then arguing all night.

What is the name for this sort of bloke appart from wanker is there something more psychological going on?

Only child. Lovely mother, deceased father who he hated for knocking his mother about. He felt nothing when he was beside his father when he died. I dont think he's even that keen on his mum tbh. He was her king. I actually think he's turned into his father.

Twuntus erectus when he's standing
Twuntus horizontalus when he's lying down.

As for a psychological diagnosis; gven that he's killed his father, married his mother, and subsequently killed her in order to resurrect his father, I suspect inverted Oedipus Schmoedipus complex.

BrightnessFalls · 01/05/2012 00:37

Oh, Lordy Smile. He didnt kill his father!! the booze did that.

Its all the public fighting I dont get. When everyone can see it.

Dickhead. WHo cares what the exact label might be? Do you have to have any contact with him or can you cut him out of your life?

oikopolis · 01/05/2012 00:42

unstable narcissistic boozer

izzyizin · 01/05/2012 00:43

Aw jeez

Of course he hasn't killed his father in real life. Google Oedipus. This guy's inverted the tale and wants to marry become his father.

BrightnessFalls · 01/05/2012 00:43

I dont have any contact but, he might be at a party Im attending next month.

Oikopolis, I think your description hit the nail on the head.

Wot Izzy and Oiko said.

People who change character when drunk are invariably hiding their real selves while sober. The drunk is the real person. In this case, the real (drunk) person is a tantrumming, self-obsessed bully who attacks when he feels he's not being treated with sufficient reverence.

If you look up the 'nurture' aspects behind Narcissism, you'll find abusive parents and doting parents feature greatly. When Mummy made him her King instead of being a grown-up parent and saving him from his drunken bully of a father, she created the perfect breeding ground for a disordered personality - and set him up for an Oedipus complex.

Now he's a drunken, self-worshipping, insecure bully who can't relate normally to women. Bet you anything his gorgeous wife shares all his mother's faults and the beautiful children have odd ideas about gender.

Should be a fun party!!

izzyizin · 01/05/2012 03:15

Don't forget to google Dennis Potter Shmoedipus too, honey Grin

Wisedupwoman · 05/05/2012 14:14

BrightnessFalls · 05/05/2012 16:02

Well, I went to his mums 87th last night. She looked adorable and was surrounded by about 150 people who love her. He was nowhere to be seen. I asked his aunt where he was and she said he had something important to do in that London. Ma got stuck into her room and gave a lovely speech thanking everyone and had a quiet cry in the corner after.

Something more important then his old mother who worked four jobs to make sure he had his needs met.
