To not allow DS to give his friend money?

DS has two friends. He's been trying to arrange a day out with them for the easter holidays but they keep saying they have no money. Anyway today one of them miraculously has money and DS was getting ready to go. I got suspicious, logged onto his facebook and it turns out he offered to give the friend £10 to go out with.

AIBU to now allow this? they're 13 btw.

It depends how much you and your son want to have a day out and if you and your son can afford to subsidise the outing. I have paid to take my children's friends on outings with us before.

Yeah, that doesn't sit quite right, does it?

Either they both want to hang out together, in which case they need to find something free to do.

Or ds is 'buying' his friend's company, which is all wrong and ds needs to find some real friends.

£10 seems a lot of money for a 13 yr old to be flashing around, but perhaps I'm out of touch. Why does he have £10 to spare?
