I have a male friend. When we're together (usually with others) we always get along well and have a lot of fun, but I do often find myself annoyed with the way he behaves towards me.
For example, I'm going to a sports event with him and both our DCs tomorrow and he suggested that we could have lunch beforehand. This was 2 weeks ago, the last time we spoke and he said he'd have to check the diary at home (fair enough) but would let me know what time we'd meet. If we're having lunch, I need to leave home at 11am tomorrow and I still haven't heard from him.
I know I could get in touch with him, but this was very much about whether he could make it, I've already told him I can, although it was his suggestion.
This seems to happen a lot. One of us will suggest doing something and he leaves it right to the last minute to let me know if he can make it. It's not like that with any of my female friends and makes me feel like he's not bothered about meeting me. Is it just the difference between men & women, is he waiting for a better offer, having to get permission from his wife...... or am I being stupid?
BTW we are really just friends 
I'm not desperate for his friendship if it's all too much trouble for him, but apart from this issue he is a good friend e.g would drop everything to help me if I asked.
