I have been unsettled for a while now and try as I do I worry that I am weak and sometimes wish I had more courage to take risks. I heard about a book by a palliative care nurse ansd she said the one most common thing said by those on their death beds is " I wish I'd lived life for myself instead of others"

scary huh!

I can't be the only one who wonders like this? ...what are your biggest regrets so far?

No, I am not worried about that at all, the secret is to do what these dying people said, just live your life, it is yours, so do what makes you happy.

I have done things I regret and not done things to the best of my ability at times which I regret but I think when it comes to my time to kick the bucket I will be able to say I have lived. Although at times life is/has been shit I am generally lucky I think but that's because for 37 years I did as I pleased and then DS came along Grin Now I am controlled by a very loud, demanding, tantruming child!

No, to be honest, i look at what i've achieved now
Of course i look to the future, and on the ol death bed, but i can honestly say to my dying self, "i did good" Smile

When my friend was 16 her mum passed away. Now my friend is 42 and says I have chosen to live my life to the full and I am going to live life for my mum at the same time and boy does she know how to do it well.

I'm at a crossroads in my life now and can imagine that whichever path I take I will end up with regrets. It is how I look at life though, through a lens of 'how will I feel if I don't take this chance'. It has stood me in good stead so far.
