She asked me last week did he want to talk to someone as we have had a hard time recently with the kids, DD has just been dx,d with Cerebral Palsy and DS has a provisional dx of ASD and is not at school atm as he is suffering very badly with anxiety.

DH has been signed off for work for 2 weeks with depression.

Anyway he went today and came back smiling, she was able to tell him things about me and my condition (i have Asperger syndrome) and why i do certain things and what he can do and also what i can do to help him.

It has really helped and i feel closer to him now, listening to him say this afternoon that he feels responsible for DD,s condition - like its something he has passed on to her-even though he hasnt, i never knew he felt like this.

We are both going to go and see my mental health worker next week as she is going to work on getting us communicating with each other,

Great news for you jenk1, hope it continues to go well between you. Sounds like things have been tough recently so you deserve something good

Very nice to hear the good side, of health pros that think creatively in helping you. I think it's a particular problem for men talking about their feelings, and so your worker has given him a great opportunity for him to talk things through.

i had a chat with her today and she has helped me to see things from DH point of view and some things about him that i hadnt realised, it is really doing us good.
