I am trying to claim back mis-sold PPI on an old loan I took out with XH, but it turns out I need his consent to access the account details as it was in joint names. I'm happily remarried now and I don't want to resume any contact with XH and I don't want him to know my married name, address etc. I thought the best way would be to set up an email address in my maiden name and email him, but it seems what I thought was his email address is not (or is no longer).
I've looked him up on Facebook and he's there all right, but how do I contact him without letting him know my name, family details etc? Could I set up a fake FB account in my maiden name? Would this look odd seeing as I wouldn't have any friends or photos? Can you think of any other way to get in touch, for instance is there a way of finding peoples' email addresses?
