Just lazy, casual ,self centred sexism which means she is constantly burdened, looks after the kids all weekend while does his own thing, he never helps out round then house etc etc. Similar actually to many mumsnet stories of male grimness.

She is one of my best friends of 20+ years.

Particular frustration being felt today as we are all on holiday together, she is exhausted, has hardly slept for last 2 nights and he has taken himself off for a 2 hour nap while she deals with the kids and puts them to bed.

I am so angry on her behalf. He is a selfish arse. She never complains though.

BUT - it's not my relationship so I should keep out of it right?

think so, maybe say you don't know how she does it and listen to her response - she might not see anything wrong!

well, you can't make her choices for her but you can be there for her and show that you have noticed how well she is doing with her DCs (note not just how hard she is working) by encouraging her in what she is doing she may open up to you about how she feels and then you can give her more support.

Took 10 years of non-judgmental support before I realised i was not happy with my lot in life and that I was being abused and i LOVE my friends so much for being with me through it all and helping me to pick up the pieces.

She's lucky to have you!!

(of course you could always tell her OH that you're taking her off to the bar tomorrow night and leaving the men-folk to bond with the kids Wink)!!!
