Online Dating help please.

New Year's resolution, starting early, is to get a life. I'd like to join a couple of dating sites and dip my toe in the man watvr. Problem is, I have no idea how to write a profile, etc. How do I write a profile that is attractive, fun, but steers the nutters away from me. Bearing in mind, I am a total nutter magnet.

Agree don't put too much about yourself. I say I have children but never given any details. I also don't say too much about what I do or don't want - you might miss out on someone who is really nice but doesnt think they meet your criteria so doesn't contact you. thats the way I look at it anyway.

Good photos are massively important. Men are visual creatures, most won't even really read your profile before they send the first message, it's all based on how you look in photos! Something where you look smiley and happy seems to work well generally.

I think GSM is crap tbh, although lots of people rave about it. I'm on POF which is a bit shit but is at least free. Come over to our dating thread, we're now on No 7 I think. Some of the others are on OK Cupid (also free, possibly slightly better class of man than POF) and other sites too - a few have been quite successful. Not me yet but that's because I am v fussy. Not that you'd think it to look at my Ex though

Ok, so have GSM, uniformdating - I do like a uniform, that site is like a sweet shop! And Muddy Matches. Just need to dig out some photos now...
