Hi!! My DH and I, along with DD1 and DD2 have been living with my MIL and FIL for nearly 2 years now cos we simply can't afford to rent / buy. We desperately want our own house, but we've got student debts to pay back and I haven't been working for the last 2 years cos I have been having babies!! I love my MIL and FIL dearly and they have got a lovely big 6/7 bedroomed house, but I am going completely mad - they are driving me crazy. It would be sooooooo wonderful to know if any other MNers are in a similar situation - Just to have a good old bitch together and support one another a bit - Please talk to me before I go mental!!!!!!!!!

I am living with my parents with dh,ds & dd while we sell our house.

I don't have such a problem but I know my dh is going mad & wants to get out

I do miss having my own space as we also have dd in our room at the mo so I long to be able to watch tv in bed if I wanted!

I think that if it was with my in-laws I wouldn't have lasted as long though as My MIL is a nightmare!!

CaptainDippyInTheSnow · 08/12/2005 21:49

Cheers guys!! The crazy thing is that MIL and FIL don't actually help all that much - they can go a whole week without even seeing either of my DD's!! Their social calender comes first. Very frustrating!!

Thank you beans!! Glad you are having a positive experience of co-habiting with your 2 old men!! I am 23 and living in Eastbourne, East Sussex. DH and I have been marrried 3 and a half years and we have 2 DD's, Katherine, 21 months and Sophia, 6 months (and yes, I AM crazy!!) Katherine was born when we were living in Wales and when I went on maternity leave DH couldn't support us so we had to up sticks and move in will the outlaws. Sophia was concieved cos we THOUGHT we had found our escape route - alas not. Since then we have just been struggling along really - good times and bad times. Desperately wanting my own place now though. Sick of doing ALL the housework and trying hard to bite my tongue and not too get outrageously angry at the injustice of our situation. I know that we are very lucky though and loads of peeps have it much worse than us. Sigh.
